For culinary challenged Sarah Blair, there’s only one thing scarier than cooking from scratch—murder!

Married at eighteen, divorced at twenty‑eight, Sarah Blair reluctantly swaps her luxury lifestyle for a cramped studio apartment and a law firm receptionist job in the tired hometown she never left. With nothing much to show for the last decade but her feisty Siamese cat, RahRah, and some clumsy domestic skills, she’s the polar opposite of her bubbly twin, Emily—an ambitious chef determined to take her culinary ambitions to the top at a local gourmet restaurant . . .

Sarah knew starting over would be messy. But things fall apart completely when her ex drops dead, seemingly poisoned by Emily’s award-winning rhubarb crisp. Now, with RahRah wanted by the woman who broke up her marriage and Emily wanted by the police for murder, Sarah needs to figure out the right recipe to crack the case before time runs out. Unfortunately, for a gal whose idea of good china is floral paper plates, catching the real killer and living to tell about it could mean facing a fate worse than death—being in the kitchen!

Includes quick and easy recipes!

Promotional Persona by Debra H. Goldstein It’s coming! Will I survive? One Taste Too Many already is available for pre-order, but on December 18, 2018 the print and e-book versions will launch. I’m excited and scared. I thought the hard work was over – after all, I wrote the book, but now I need to publicize it.

For a shy person who as a judge deliberately flew under the radar, this is a daunting proposition. Consequently, I’ve been secretly observing others to see if there is a persona I can adopt. Here’s what I’ve discovered: Master Promoter – so much in my face that I want to puke (not my style) Promoting is Gauche – and that’s why nobody bought your books after your family and friends helped the first day (enough said) Calm, Kind, and All Over the Place – Where do some of those writers get all their energy? Surely eating five crackers at a sitting or drinking two pots of coffee isn’t the source. (Kindness aspect is worth keeping) Volunteer Persona – leaves no time for writing or personal work (can well understand that one) Networker – relationship builder (good if combined with c and d but problematic with style a) Nurturer – helps others (good when combined with elements of c, d, and e) Stumbler – what will be will be, but I’ll try (a natural fit) What I finally realized is that it isn’t the persona I adopt that is going to make the difference, but whether those who read One Taste Too Many enjoy it and recommend it to their friends, family, book groups, social media contacts and anyone else they can think of. My goal was to write a fun and easy read – a book readers could identify with while the story took them to another place and introduced them to new friends. I may not have the skills or persona to be a polished PR person, but my characters and I relish making new friends. Whether you are a reader of this blog or the Sarah Blair mystery series as it is published, I invite you to share my journey. Write me, follow my blog and Facebook page, subscribe to my semi-annual newsletter, or invite me to speak to one of your groups. Let me know what you think of One Taste Too Many through a personal communication or posting a review. Like my protagonist, Sarah Blair, I’m finding my way and I’m looking forward to exploring what happens with you. Thanks for being there.

Review of ONE TASTE TOO MANY by Debra H. Goldstein
(A Sarah Blair Mystery)

I personally think there is never too much tasting with rhubarb, but the reader's hook tells us for some people, there really is! First in a brand new cozy mystery series, protagonist Sarah Blair finds herself in over her head when her ex-husband dies suddenly and her twin sister Emily is accused. Next Sarah is considered a person of interest; and Emily rooks Sarah in to help at the Food Expo! Sarah also faces possibly losing her beloved cat RahRah, initially rescued during Hurricane Katrina by her former mother-in-law, with whom Sarah got along fabulously. But RahRah has supposed to have an "animal trust," with a stipend to the carer. Sarah doesn't care, but someone apparently does, and is willing to both kill and frame innocents.

ONE TASTE TOO MANY is a "different," slightly edgy, cozy from an author with extensive knowledge of legal procedure.
